Bobibos-Sponsored Tabligh Akbar by Ustaz Abdul Somad Draws Massive Crowd in Jonggol

Thousands of worshippers filled Plaza Dakwah Bumi Sultan in Jonggol, Bogor Regency, during a solemn Tabligh Akbar held on Sunday night, January 24, 2026. The religious gathering, sponsored by Bobibos, featured nationally renowned preacher Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS) and became a major attraction for people from across Bogor and surrounding areas.

Since the afternoon, a steady flow of worshippers had arrived at the venue. A strong religious atmosphere prevailed, accompanied by the recitation of shalawat and prayers throughout the event. The gathering was attended by several national figures, Islamic scholars, as well as representatives from religious institutions and government bodies.

Chairman of the Muhammad Sultan Ramadhan Foundation and Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the Gerindra Party faction, Mulyadi, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic turnout. On the occasion, he officially announced plans for the development of the Sultan Islamic City Center in the Jonggol area.

“We want Jonggol to become an integrated center of Islamic civilization—strong not only spiritually, but also economically independent and progressive,” Mulyadi said before thousands of worshippers.

He also expressed his hope that the development could be realized before he plans to migrate to Mecca upon reaching the age of 60.

“I want to take this opportunity to appeal to the hearts of the worshippers, religious leaders, and Islamic scholars. I ask for your prayers—if Allah grants me life until the age of 60 and I migrate to Mecca, before that I wish to develop this area into the Sultan Islamic City Center,” he said.

In his remarks, Mulyadi also invited the congregation to pray for the nation’s leaders, including President Prabowo Subianto, so that they may lead Indonesia toward a just and prosperous society.

The Tabligh Akbar, which received full support from Bobibos, was also attended by Sultan of Kesepuhan Cirebon Raden Rahardjo Djali, Member of Parliament Haji Danang Wicaksana, as well as representatives from the Bogor Regency branch of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), the Bogor Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), and BJB Syariah.

The highlight of the event was a sermon delivered by Ustaz Abdul Somad Batubara (UAS). In his lecture, UAS explored the meaning of the Isra Mi’raj through three key phases—before, during, and after the event—using a clear, engaging, and insightful delivery.

UAS also touched upon the role of Abu Talib in protecting Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), presenting him as a model of steadfastness, sacrifice, and loyalty in the struggle of Islamic propagation.

Concluding the event, Mulyadi announced plans to hold Tabligh Akbar gatherings regularly every month in Jonggol as an effort to strengthen the faith of the Muslim community and maintain a strong religious atmosphere in society.
